65 million people struggle with anxiety. That’s just in the US. And it’s a pretty common occurrence around the world.

When you’re anxious, it becomes very difficult to live the life you want. Anxious folks tend to overthink and procrastinate even if they don’t want to.

And this leads to a cycle of shame and guilt. I know because I’ve been there. I dealt with anxiety for most of my adult life.

The problem is that anxiety is not exactly easy to pinpoint.

Just take a look at the lockdown months of 2020. Most things that people blamed for their anxiety disappeared.

Suddenly, there was no longer a need to go through traffic jams , or rush through airports, or tolerate rude people in crowded stores and cafes.

You’d think that without these stressors, our anxiety levels would plummet, especially after the initial scare of Covid passed. But for most of us, they didn’t.

The US Center of Disease Control and Prevention reported that anxiety disorder grew around three times greater in 2020 compared to 2019 (25.5% vs. 8.1%). And depression became four times more common (24.3% in 2020 vs. 6.5% in 2019).
